MIDDLE / HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS

Ms. Rodriguez

Middle School- English, 9th Grade English & Drama Class

Ms. Rodriguez has taught at FOA since 2003. She began as our 5th grade teacher and has taught 4th – 12th grades, as well as being the co-director of our Christmas dramas and other programs. Ms. Rodriguez graduated from Lehman College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Special Education. Ms. Rodriguez has been teaching students for over 26 years. Ms. Rodriguez is teaching Middle School English, 9th grade Fine Arts, High School Spanish I and 8th grade Career Class.

Mr. Wong

MS - Science, 8th Grade Class, 11th Grade Journalism,12th Grade English

Mr. Wong joined FOA in 2023. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from San Diego State University.
Mr. Wong loves football and helping his students to be successful. He is currently teaching Middle School Science, High School Newspaper, and 6th & 7th grade Spanish.

Mr. Short

Middle School/High School - Social Studies

Mr. Short joined FOA in 2021as the Middle School and High School Bible, Choir and Music Theory Teacher.He studied music at East Coast Bible College and earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Bible and Christian Leadership from Trinity College.

He has worked as a Music and Christian Director for 39 years and is an Ordained Southern Baptist Minister. Mr. Short has a passion for teaching and helping students reach their potential spiritually and academically. Mr Short is currently teaching Middle and High School Social Studies.

Dr. Elliot

MS & HS Spanish / HS English

Dr. Elliot returned to FOA in 2024. She previously worked at FOA for seven years teaching both middle and high school students. This year she is teaching high school English and Spanish II. Dr. Elliot has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. She has her doctorate in Christian Counseling from Christian Leadership University and an Addiction Counseling Graduate Certificate from Capella University. Dr. Elliot helps the high school students to get prepared for college.
